Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Maybe it’s because it’s socially acceptable to feast on as much candy as you want or the fact that you and your friends get to dress up in silly/cool/ironic costumes for a night that I appreciate.
Luckily for me, I have friends who relish in continuing celebrating these childhood holidays, which is why my friend Yasmin decided to have a pumpkin carving party. While I’ve decided we all might be 9-years-old at heart, it (unsurprisingly) turned out to be a lot of fun!
My little sugar pumpkin to the left standing its ground next to the larger pumpkins. This little guy turned out to be a lot harder to carve, but with a price of less than $2 from Trader Joe’s, I couldn’t resist. Over harvesting the seeds, we gossiped and nibbled on festive treats. After a hectic Monday, it was great to just unwind and be silly. I even met the hilarious owners of Eventurously, an event planning company created by two best friends. Let’s just say their pumpkins were better than mine. But we also may or may not have used a few pumpkin carving kits… (meant for children). Ha.
The finished product above. Can you spot mine?
