So, it’s almost officially summer. And there have already been more than a few sightings of overalls around town.
And not just on the runway.
Normally, I draw the line at anything created with an inordinate amount of denim, but lately I can’t help getting excited when I see a friend sporting them in the city or searching #overalls on Instagram for inspiration. Remember that quote, do one thing every day that scares you? Well, that’s how I felt about wearing overalls past the age of six. Until now.
The code to cracking this look without resembling a character on Full House are simple. Which brings me to rule number one…
1. Keep it simple. Solid crop tops and stripes are appropriate, so just keep those statement tops back at home.
2. Jewelry should be classic. Hence, why my love for Catbird NYC jewelry appears twice.
3. Don’t be afraid to rock a pair of heels. I prefer my footwear to be solid and structured in this instance. Plus, I’d rather not be that girl in “joveralls” who fell while trying to balance on cobblestones in the Meatpacking District.
Wish me luck.
Brave enough to try overalls/joveralls for the day/night? Let’s hear about it.
