“You are what you settle for.” – Janis Joplin
(In an interview with Howard Smith on September 30, 1970)
… So never settle for anything less than what you deserve.
Even if it means packing up your life to move to your dream city.
It’s just been one month since I first moved to Europe and while sorely neglecting my blog, I’ve had the chance to explore my new home (in addition to a few other memorable places – from swimming/dancing in the French Riviera to celebrating Oktoberfest in Munich). I’ll admit the language barrier has been a challenge, but one that’s an admirable compromise to living in one of the most iconic cities in the world. Crêpes on every corner, anyone?
And don’t even get me started on the fashion.
Parisians just understand personal style. None of them are dressed quite alike, but the uniform of black with bursts of thoughtful details, like a heeled pair of Chanel boots or on-trend hat from Zara, represents a conscious blend of mixing high and low end pieces that gives the French dresser (yes, men and women) that certain je ne sais quoi.
Just being around this sartorial setting is an education in itself. In addition to the French lessons, museums, gardens and countless monuments I plan to continue to visit.
A year ago, I could never imagine being lucky enough to take this amount of time to go adventure into the world. I had my fears and the reservations of others, but even on the bad days (which seems pretty non-existent; the worst is the moments when I see something that reminds me of my family and friends) I’m incredibly happy that I chose to pursue this dream.
What are your dreams? Even if they are farfetched (like living in a foreign country!), let’s hear them.

P.s. I’ll put up some pictures as soon as I can – every where I step is an instant Instagram moment. I’ll try not to get too obnoxious, promise!
