As much as I love the holiday season, I try to mentally block out the fact that January, February and March follow closely behind. Especially after being raised in the Sunshine State, the shorter days seem to drag on longer than usual. Not to mention that the icy cold wind and sudden snowstorms, sans the cheer of Christmas lights.
My favorite way to combat these feelings early? Start planning your spring trip now.
Here a my top spots that are on my list for a spring getaway this year:
Just remembering my trip to Palm Springs last year instantly brings a smile to my face. From relaxing by the many hotel pools surrounded by towering palm trees to hiking around the tranquil Joshua Tree State Park, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy during their visit to this desert oasis.

Charleston, South Carolina
Who doesn’t love a little southern hospitality? There’s nothing that compares to the charm of Chuck Town – from it’s picturesque streets to it’s quality cooking (particularly it’s seafood i.e. shrimp and grits). I use to visit when I first lived in New York, but it’s been over two years now. I might have to change that 😉
I’ve had my eye on Bermuda for a while for a while… it’s just a quick flight over from NYC, and it’s beaches looks so luxurious. I can already picture myself sunning on a lounge chair with a good book.
Sunshine and taco trucks… need I say more? I had such a fun time there at a bachelorette part early this October, that I cannot wait to explore the growing city more! I highly recommend rafting down one of the rivers and exploring 6th Street on Saturday night ( it’s the southwest version of New Orleans’ Bourbon Street).
Palm Beach, Florida
Okay, I have to admit I haven’t actually visited Palm Beach (just passed through for multiple soccer games growing up), but I’m dying to visit soon. Just to take a long weekend to take a dip in the ocean, peruse it’s classically preppy boutiques or even play a round of golf or tennis sounds like a dream.
Do you have a favorite place to add to the list?
My other contenders were Key West, Jupiter and Naples (Florida), Savannah, Georgia and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina!
