As much as I’ve been daydreaming about warm-weather getaways, I’m finally beginning to embrace all of the highlights of winter – from cozy nights in buried under blankets to enjoying hot chocolate and a well-worn book.
Winter is the time for rest and restoration, after all 😉
Now that February is here, I’ve found a few essential items for my home during the winter:
Changing out my throw pillows to reflect the four divisions of the year is an easy trick to get into the spirit of the season. I especially like the colors, fabrics and overall style for winter to create a calm, relaxed mood.
Scents are notorious for setting the tone in a home. I love that lavender is naturally soothing, and can be used year-round, too!
Maybe I’ve read the Harry Potter series too many times, but I instantly think of snowy forests and warm castles when I look at this whimsical wine stopper. Add your favorite bottle of red, a good book and a fireplace? Now that sounds like my kind of winter wonderland.
I cannot get enough layers during the year. How perfect is this throw for decoration or spontaneous blanket?
DIY spa days are the best and these towels could not be more perfect.
I love a good duvet cover – especially one that’s warm and reminds me of summer with the blue and white stripes. Adding on a blanket or quilt during the winter helps keep the heat as well, like this navy one I’ve been eyeing.
Seriously, this quilt could not be more chic. I love the two contrasting colors on each side (navy and coral) that can be reversed for summer. Not to mention that it’s extremely warm, but lightweight too!
What are some of your winter time essentials? Let me know your favorites.
