Who could forget the scene in Clueless where Cher [Alicia Silverstone] picks out her outfit from her very own virtual closet? With just a few clicks of a button, she could scroll through her entire wardrobe and assemble her ensemble.*
Growing up, I did not know a single girl who did not envy her closest. And still don’t.
You can imagine then how thrilled I was when I was introduced to Stylitics, a website and mobile app that has turned my 1995 fantasy into a 21st-century reality.
Not only is Stylitics free (that’s right, no Beverly Hills fortune needed), but it’s a fun and intelligent extension of a user’s actual wardrobe, allowing them to share clothing ideas with friends, collaborate on outfits, and explore new styles. Also, it gives you information about the clothes you wear, such as cost per wear, a history of your style by occasion and who was with you, what’s currently trending and a whole lot more. You can even browse and shop closets of friends or celebrities, and give and receive style advice based on the actual items you own and wear.
Don’t believe me? As if. Watch and see for yourself:
What do you like/dislike about Stylitics? I’m eager to hear y’all’s thoughts!
NYC Girl In Pearls
P.s. Thanks again to my friend, NYC Fashion Girl for personally introducing me to this highly addictive and helpful website/app.
*Note: When I recently watched Clueless, I noticed her first outfit combo was a ‘MIS-MATCH!’ Unlike Cher’s version, users on Stylitics is encouraged to pursue their own personal style. Their goal is to help YOU make smarter decisions when it comes to dressing and shopping.
