There’s a reason why New York City is the most popular backdrop to many films and TV shows. The city itself is a rich character, with its ever-changing cast, cloud-skimming skyscrapers and band of noises from taxi cabs to construction drills.
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve watched Meg Ryan fall in love on the Upper West Side, Audrey Hepburn eat her breakfast at Tiffany’s on 5th Avenue or Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant make promises to meet at the top of the Empire State building.
Since my first visit, I’ve made a mental note to visit the places in my favorite programs just to see them for myself. You cannot imagine how thrilled I was when I wadi invited on the Romantic Movie Moments Tour.
Grabbing a friend, I spent last Saturday checking out different Manhattan neighborhoods while spotting classic romantic movie spots all from the comfort of a luxurious tour bus. Our genuinely enthusiastic (and hilarious) tour guide kept us entertained with trivia games, movie clips and chocolate (the true key to anyone’s heart) during the ride. We even stopped at Café Lalo (hint: it’s where Tom Hanks goes to meet Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail) for a coffee/sweets mini break. I definitely fell in love with New York all over again – especially with my own Nora Ephron-approved neighborhood.
Now, on to the best part: I’m giving away two tickets for the Romantic Movie Moments Tour for one reader – just comment, tweet or post on my Instagram or Facebook post your favorite romantic movie based in New York City and you will be entered into the drawing.
But hurry… I’ll contact the lucky winner Valentine’s Day weekend! Best of luck, y’all!
p.s. Have you looked at On Location Tours other tours? I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been eyeing the Sex & the City or Gossip Girl Tour for next time!
