So as part of my job as editorial assistant for Manhattan and Beach Magazines, I’m expected to spend half of my time in the Hamptons (!) during the summer months. When I first heard about this, I honestly thought my soon-to-be boss was joking.

Summer in the city can be pretty miserable with the high temperatures and tourists, so traditionally New Yorkers flee to Long Island for seaside sojourns starting Memorial Day weekend. The fact that I will now be joining the rest of the city this year just makes my first anniversary of living in this incredible city that much sweeter.
This week, the Manhattan/Beach Magazine team took a mini trip to the Hamptons to check out the area as well as meet with local vendors as well as see the attractions/venues that we work with for events during the summer. I’ve been to the Hamptons once before, during the summer, but to see the charming snow-covered town with gorgeous shingled mansions and picturesque beaches was pure magic. We explored the different areas, dined at local staples like the Golden Pear café, and even met the official “town crier,” Hugh King. I also got a peak at the Manhattan/Beach summer offices – needless to say, I’m pretty excited for summertime!
Have you been to the Hamptons? Let me know your favorite spots!
