Like the country song (for which this post was named) croons on, ‘nothin’ is sweeter than summertime.’ Weekends are meant for trips to surrounding beaches or parks, breezy sandals are the footwear of choice and air conditioners are in full-force. Despite the heat, I’m once again loving summer in this city.
I already have a bucket list going – don’t worry, I’ll share here – that I’ve been methotically working on for this time of the year. There’s always so much to do in New York, but here’s something about summer that really gets people out to the nearest outdoor movie (like the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival) or lining up for sweet relief from the rising temperatures (try OddFellows Ice Cream – a new favorite) like this season’s sunshine.
Since the 4th of July is the first holiday after the official start of summer (June 21st – but we all know the season started Memorial Day weekend), I’ve compiled a few mix-and-match pieces that will help you celebrate whether your planning on heading to a Montauk BBQ to a rooftop soirée. A swim suit underneath and ombré blue nails are a cute, carefree touch.
